Caroline Grothe spent a decade behind the bar making drinks for the person in front of her.

In cities where everyone else was following rules she never saw the point of.

Ten years. Dozens of original builds still on menus across the country.

Every order was a conversation about what the person actually loved. A tarter Cosmo. A sinfully dirty martini. More citrus. Less sweet. No rules. No judgment. Just the pursuit of the drink that made someone stop mid-sip and smile.

Her only measure was whether the person holding the glass loved it. Everything else was noise...

Multiple bars tried to copy one of her cocktails. Every single version missed.

They got the recipe right and missed everything that made it work. Caroline wasn't following a recipe. She was studying why certain ingredients belong together. Cherry deepens almond. Yuzu electrifies lemongrass.

That kind of understanding lives in the person making the drink, not the instructions. You can copy a recipe. You cannot copy that.

She built this after years of watching what actually happened around a great drink.

Strangers becoming friends. First dates turning into four-hour conversations. Regulars walking in after a hard day and leaving lighter.

The cocktail was never the point. The feeling in the room was. A better drink is nice. A better moment is everything. That is what she bottled.
